About the Company

We believe in the power of partnerships to drive impact, innovation and value.

Founded in 2001, Boster Group is one of the world’s leading independent consultancies specialising in the development of strategic partnerships between global corporations, cultural institutions and social impact foundations. Through award-winning, bespoke partnerships spanning social justice, health and wellbeing, sustainability, thought leadership, client engagement, and the creative sector, Boster Group has overseen the transfer of more than $75 million to cultural and social impact partners and delivered measurable results to its clients around the world.

For over 20 years, Boster Group has been a trusted advisor to a number of Fortune 500 companies, leveraging its knowledge, expertise and global network to deliver clients’ business and social impact goals. Current and recent clients include J.P. Morgan, Moët Hennessy, Goldman Sachs, Meta, EY, AMEX, BNP Paribas, Diageo, Deutsche Bank, Gap Inc., Insight Investment, HSBC, Bacardi, Montblanc, State Street and Disney. You can find testimonials from some of our clients on our website.

Everyone at Boster Group is passionate and knowledgeable about social impact – whether that is through education, arts and culture or any one of the thousands of organisations creating positive change.

We are a friendly and hard-working team with an open and collaborative company culture. Furthermore, we are non-hierarchical – even our most recent hires are directly meeting, pitching to and interviewing some of the most senior executives in financial and professional services, luxury, retail, government, philanthropy and culture across the globe.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a motivated and creative candidate who loves to learn about innovative and new solutions to some of the world’s biggest issues to research the state of the market for environmental and social organisations globally (with a particular focus on the US and UK) and develop recommendations for how Boster Group can leverage that knowledge in its marketing, business development and service offering. Boster Group’s remit within partnerships has expanded significantly in the past five years as the creation and measurement of social impact continues to develop across sectors. If you have a passion for environmental and social issues and want to discover how different organisations are creating transformational change with a company that can translate your learnings and ideas into real impact, then this is the role for you.

The internship will involve extensive research into NGOs and non-profits as well as private companies to identify the organisations and individuals considered to be examples of best (and worst) practice within an environmental, social and governance (ESG) context. This research will inform regular recommendations from the intern on how the knowledge obtained could influence the development of Boster Group’s growth and expertise. This may include the following deliverables:

  1. Research into:
    • The many topics shaping conversations about environmentalism and social impact, from carbon neutrality and nature positivity to diversity and human rights
    • Organisations in select sectors which are consistently considered to demonstrate best practice and why
    • Individual thought leaders, business executives and activists
    • ESG ratings agencies, the factors that influence ratings, and the global movement towards establishing consistent metrics and evaluation
    • New models of capital finance within environmental or social impact, including analysis of pros and cons
    • Existing models of multi-sector partnership, social impact, impact investing and philanthropy, and how those models are developing
    • The strategic frameworks that are informing the development of corporate and non-governmental ESG work
  2. Analysis of the research above, including which organisations are best positioned to claim which narratives and competitive advantages
  3. Recommendations for how this information might be applied across Boster Group’s marketing, networking, development and delivery strategies
  4. Regular meetings with the Boster Group team to better understand the company, its clients, the relevant contexts and develop ideas and concepts

Firm deliverables, due dates and ways of working would be mutually agreed at the start of the internship. We would expect the internship to take place between June and December 2023, depending on whether the candidate is available to work on a full- or part-time basis. We will be flexible to the needs of candidate based on their academic and other personal commitments. The internship would be compensated with academic credit, where possible, and Boster Group would work closely with the candidate to ensure that the scope of the internship and final deliverables met their academic interests and professional needs. We do offer a stipend or project fee if no course credit is available, depending on the candidate’s immigration status, needs and availability as well as the final scope of work. This will be at least the equivalent of the local living wage.

Boster Group is committed to the ongoing success and employment of our incredible interns. Due in part to introductions, conversations and recommendations made by Boster Group, 100% of previous interns have been placed in full-time employment in their field of choice – including impact investing, corporate social responsibility and partnerships consulting – within 6 months of graduating their course of study.
